Accessibility Statement

The Southern University Law Center Student Bar Association is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology.

Our Commitment

We work to conform substantially with the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we incorporate applicable WCAG 2.2 Level AA improvements where feasible. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time audit.

Measures Taken

  • Semantic landmarks, a single main region per page, and a keyboard-accessible skip link.
  • Descriptive page titles, headings, and link text.
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
  • Alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Form fields associated with visible labels, required-field indicators, and programmatic error messages.
  • Dialogs and mobile navigation that trap focus, close on Escape, and restore focus on exit.
  • Support for the operating system's reduced-motion preference.
  • Tap targets that meet WCAG 2.2 minimum size guidance on primary controls.

Known Limitations

Some third-party documents (for example, PDFs supplied by the university or outside organizations) may not fully meet accessibility standards. If you encounter a document you cannot access, please contact us and we will provide the content in an alternative format.
