This website is maintained by the Southern University Law Center Student Bar Association (the "SBA") as a student resource. It is not the official website of Southern University Law Center or the Southern University System. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect and how we use it.

Information You Submit

We may collect information you voluntarily submit through forms on this site. That can include your name, email address, phone number and other contact information, class year, organization, event information, travel information, funding request details, uploaded documents, and any other information you choose to include.

Technical Information

We may collect basic technical information such as browser and device information, pages visited, and general site activity. This helps us keep the site working and improve the resources we offer.

How We Use Information

  • Process travel and event funding requests.
  • Respond to questions, concerns, and other messages.
  • Communicate about SBA programs, events, and services.
  • Review submitted documents.
  • Support merchandise orders.
  • Improve student resources and normal SBA operations.

Funding and Document Submissions

Funding requests and uploaded documents are intended for review by authorized SBA representatives. Please provide only the information reasonably necessary for your request.

Do not submit Social Security numbers, complete payment card numbers, passwords, medical records, or other highly sensitive information unless it is specifically requested through an approved process.

Documents submitted through this site will not be intentionally made public.

We Do Not Sell Personal Information

The SBA does not sell personal information.

Service Providers

Information may be processed by service providers we rely on to operate this website, including hosting, form handling, file storage, email, analytics, and similar functions.

Merchandise information may be processed by Shopify and related commerce and payment services.

Payments

Merchandise payments are processed through Shopify or the payment services available through Shopify. This website does not intentionally collect or store complete payment card numbers.

Retention

We make reasonable efforts to keep personal information and submitted documents only as long as reasonably needed for SBA operations, recordkeeping, review of requests, or other legitimate purposes, and to delete them when they are no longer needed.

We take reasonable steps to restrict access to nonpublic submissions to authorized SBA representatives. However, no internet system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You may contact the SBA to request correction or removal of information you submitted, where appropriate.
