Overview

Students and recognized student organizations may request SBA financial support for travel to conferences, competitions, training, and professional development opportunities.

Download and complete both required PDF forms, gather your supporting documentation, then upload everything through the submission form on this page. The website collects basic routing and contact information; the official forms remain the record of your request.

After submission, an SBA representative may contact you by email and you may be asked to appear before the SBA Executive Board to briefly discuss the proposed travel, its benefit, and the requested budget. The SBA may approve the request in full, approve a reduced amount or only certain expenses, deny the request, or request additional information.

SBA funding addresses financial support only. Applicants must separately comply with the Office of Student Affairs travel approval process and all applicable Law Center requirements.

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Step 1: Download the Travel Funding Request Form and the SBA Disbursement Form.
  2. Step 2: Complete and sign both forms offline (PDF).
  3. Step 3: Gather supporting documentation: registration information, airfare and hotel estimates, itemized budget, event schedule, and traveler list.
  4. Step 4: Upload both completed forms and all supporting documents through the submission form below.
  5. Step 5: SBA reviews the submission and contacts you by email; you may be asked to appear before the Executive Board.
  6. Step 6: You are notified of the decision — full funding, reduced funding, denial, or a request for additional information.
